Cars 3 (2017)

This was less of a story and more of an emotional journey. This was a film that followed a new and unexpected character down the road of self-discovery. Along with the development of Cristela Alonzo’s character, Cruz Ramirez, we see Owen Wilson’s Lightning McQueen develop as well. Even though this film was full of laughs we saw a side to the Cars franchise that hadn’t been seen before. Brian Fee and the writers dabble in the ideas of loss and emerging victorious amidst incredible adversity. This film was just about as good as the first installment of this franchise. This film got back to the original themes of racing, friendship and finding one’s way in life (while still being able to introduce new themes which I mentioned previously). The only negative regarding this film was that Larry the Cable Guy’s Mater took a backseat to many of the new characters. His role was severely cut back and with him being the best character in the franchise (at least in my opinion) caused this film to lose some points in my book. Overall, I thought the film was fantastic and took a huge step forward from “Cars 2.”https://m.imdb.com/title/tt3606752/
