I typically enjoy both Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder, this film was no exception. The dialogue and the humor in this film are similar to other Mel Brooks/Gene Wilder films that I’ve seen before. It’s full of subtle and dry humor and I love it. I’ve never seen Cleavon Little in a film before (at least that I know of) but he was hilarious. His one-liners were funny; however, the best part of his character was him constantly breaking the fourth wall. This film was terribly racist, but, unfortunately, it fit with the time period in which this film was meant to take place. I really enjoyed this film; everything from the story, to the humor, to the acting was done well for this film. This had one of the funniest endings I’ve ever seen in a film. I can see why this film is regarded as one of the funniest ever. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0071230/
