This film was not quite as good as its predecessor (it was close, though), however, I felt that one of the underlying themes in this film was far superior to those of the first film. A theme that was regularly seen throughout this film was that of power vs. innocence. I thought that William Moseley’s Peter successfully represented the idea of power and Georgie Henley’s Lucy did an equally good job of representing innocence. The battle between the two made the film even more enjoyable than it already was. The biggest issue with the film was the acting. All of the actors from the first film and newcomers, Peter Dinklage and Warwick Davis, were phenomenal. Most of the newcomers, however, were atrocious actors, with Ben Barnes being the worst of the bunch. Ben Barnes’ Prince Caspian bounces back and forth between an English accent and a Spanish accent, making the character quite horrid. What made the character even more upsetting is that I’ve seen him act before (in Marvel’s The Punisher (2017)) and he’s not actually a terrible actor. Compared to the first film, I thought the fight scenes were choreographed better and were more enjoyable. This film was almost as good as the first film, but because of the atrocious acting by a great number of the actors, I find it hard to say that this film was as good as the first. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0499448/
