The Boy Next Door (2015)

This story wasn’t completely original, but from films that I’ve seen, the story was, in some ways, unique. It followed the story of forbidden love (sort of), however, this love takes an unexpected turn for the worse. I enjoyed the story and the direction that Rob Cohen and Barbara Curry took this film. Some of the scenes appeared out of place and could only be explained as a way to show the audience how insane Ryan Guzman’s Noah Sandborn was. I thought the casting of Ryan Guzman was well done. The character of Noah Sandborn was fantastic. Often times we see “bad guys” who make mistake after mistake, leading, ultimately, to their demise. With Sandborn, we saw an intelligent character who was able to get into the heads of each of his victims. Rather than a “bad guy” who was easily defeated, Sandborn was a formidable foe. I had seen this film before, but I feel that I was more impressed with it this time than I was the first time. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt3181822/
