This was a very peculiar film. The story was whacky and the characters were insane. Every one of the main characters was interesting; Smecker, Connor, Murphy and Rocco were each funny and enjoyable in their own way. Willem Defoe’s performance as Paul Smecker was fantastic. He was easily the most dynamic character in the film, and as he transformed from what he was at the start of the film to what he became, every aspect of what his character was meant to be was believable. The story of the vigilante isn’t anything new to film, however, this story was unique. Troy Duffy did an excellent job of finding new angles and new ways to present this type of story. I thought the ending was clever and well done. I really did enjoy this film, however, I don’t know how badly I want to watch the sequel. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0144117/
