This was a pretty terrible film. The story was absolutely ridiculous and I seriously struggled to pay attention to this film. There were essentially two stories going on at the same time and neither had anything to do with the other. Had there only been one story I think this would have been a decent film (honestly, either one of the plots on their own could have made a good film). With the exception of Boris Karloff being a good actor (and the fact that there could have technically been two decent films born from this one), there were basically no positives for this film. Similar to other older “horror” films, I find it hard to categorize this as a horror film. I can understand how a crazed ape terrorizing the town could be categorized as a horror film, however, the ape hardly made an appearance. This is more of a science-fiction/drama film in my opinion. I’d avoid this film if possible. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0032215/
