Iron Man 3 (2013)

This may have been the most disappointing film in the MCU and it definitely was the worst of the three Iron Man films. The Mandarin was an excellent choice as a villain in the third installment of the Iron Man trilogy; however, the way he was executed was subpar at best. I still enjoyed the regular characters: Tony Stark, Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan. Each of these characters have developed well since the first film. Ty Simpkin’s character, Harley Keener, was annoying. However, the fact that he was irritating did not turn me off to the character (also, with the direction they went with the story, Keener became almost essential to the film). In fact, I’m actually very excited that he was called on to play Harley again in the fourth installment of the Avengers. I thought he was funny and he and Downey Jr. had a good connection. Ben Kingsley is a phenomenal actor. His role as “the Mandarin” and Trevor Slater’s we’re done very well. I think if Marvel has decided to go with the actual Mandarin, Ben Kingsley still would have been the best choice to play him. Overall, I thought the casting was done well and the acting was more than acceptable. I enjoyed the development of Colonel James Rhodes in this film and I really do enjoy Downey Jr.’s and Cheadle’s chemistry with one another. I really did enjoy this film, however, like I mentioned earlier, it probably was the most disappointing MCU film to date. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt1300854/
