EuroTrip (2004)

In terms of money, EuroTrip was a miserable failure, bringing in significantly less cash than was spent on its production. While this is an unfortunate fact, this film succeeded in every other way. From the moment the film begins (including the opening credits) the audience is taken on a hilarious, idiotic and sex-fueled journey through Europe. Three relatively unknown actors--Scott Mechlowicz (Scott Thomas), Jacob Pitts (Cooper Harris) and Travis Wester (Jamie)--could have potentially been a recipe for disaster. They, along with Michelle Trachtenberg (Jenny), could have potentially lacked in chemistry and struggled to perform on a level that would have appropriately delivered each of the comedic moments throughout the film. The four young actors succeeded in delivering each moment perfectly. They were perfectly funny, cohesive, energetic and enjoyable and helped to deliver one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen. The chemistry between the four main characters was incredibly strong and allowed for a fun, seamless adventure. DreamWorks released this film around the same time as comedic favorites such as Elf (2003), School of Rock (2003), White Chicks (2004) and Dodgeball (2004), making it difficult to find success. However, the writers and directors (Jeff Schaffer, Alec Berg and David Mandel) found a way to top the comedy of the aforementioned films (still, not fiscally). In addition to everything the wonderful actors and writers brought to the table, music supervisor, Patrick Houlihan, chose a fantastic collection of songs to accompany the film. Through the talented actors, raunchy comedy and catchy tunes, Schaffer, Berg and Mandel made themselves a masterpiece. While Fiona managed to sneak around, one thing Scotty does know is this movie does not disappoint. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356150/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1
