I find it fascinating that so much came from such an odd idea in the first film. The writers and directors must have unusual minds to be able to come up with everything that appeared in this film. I thought that the concept of this film was very interesting and that each of the “animals” that appeared in this film were certainly unique and clever. While this film had many fun and unique ideas, I thought that it came up short in comparison to the first film. I thought the film moved a bit slower than what could have potentially benefited the storyline; I thought moving at a slightly quicker pace, considering the audience was made aware of the main antagonist’s endgame quite early in the film, would have gravely benefited the film. I realize that this is a film for children, however, I thought that there were instances in the film that were incredibly strange, even uncomfortable, for adults. Cody Cameron’s Barry was, as I understand, meant to be cute. I thought however that trying to make him overly-cute actually hindered the character and made him slightly annoying. The film had a happy ending and had some interesting action scenes making this film very kid appropriate.
