I find this film to be incredibly fun. While the film tends to move at almost a snail’s pace for the first thirty or more minutes, the suspense begins at the very start of the film. The suspense, alone, is enough to carry this film and make it a lot of fun. In a world where horror films typically rely on jump scares and tactics of that sort, this film leans more towards traditional horror and suspense to genuinely scare its audience. I thought the strong use of suspense made the film incredibly engaging and interesting; to be honest, without the constant suspense the film may have actually been quite horrible. In addition to the suspense, the use of camera angles helped produce an incredible scare factor within this film. Typically, one would expect the usual subpar, over exaggerated acting and dialogue in a low budget film like this. This film, however, presented the audience with superb acting from a group of relatively unknown actors (with the exception of Jesse McCartney). The only thing that suffered from the lack of a budget was the use of CGI. It was easy to see when certain objects and animals were CGI as they looked very out of place. With a suspension of disbelief, one can easily get past this minor misstep. Due to the fact that the acting was more than I could have expected and director, Bradley Parker, when approaching this film, decided to avoid the overly common jump scare (for the most part), this may be one of my favorite horror films of all time. For those of you who enjoy a good scare and can handle a little blood and gore, I highly recommend this film. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1991245/
