To cast as many important characters as was necessary for this film, I’m sure Nancy Klopper really had her work cut out for her. However, she succeeded. From Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt as the lead characters (Tom and Kate Baker, respectively) to smaller characters, such as Tom Welling’s Charlie Baker, Hilary Duff’s Lorraine Baker and Liliana’s Mumy’s Jessica Baker, each and every actor did a phenomenal job of portraying their character. It’s incredibly strange that Ashton Kutcher was not credited in this film, as he played a significant role in bringing the family together. The song choices in this film are beyond good; the inclusion of songs such as “I’m Just A Kid” by Simple Plan and Sum 41’s “In Too Deep” added even more fun to an already enjoyable film. This absolutely has the same feel as most other early 2000’s family films. It gives the audience a sense of happiness and accomplishment as a family, who is fourteen strong, treck the rocky road that is life. By the end of the film Shawn Levy and the writers have the audience feeling amazing about family and camaraderie. This film certainly falls under the category of family fun. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0349205/
