Changeling (2008)

I thought the acting in this was phenomenal. Considering the severity of the situation(s) taking place throughout the course of the film, I thought everyone did an extraordinary job. I was particularly fascinated with Eddie Alderson’s performance in this film. Alderson’s would have only been fourteen years old during filming, and with the intensity of his role and how emotional his character was meant to be, it was hard to be anything but impressed. My only complaint with the acting was Devon Conti’s performance. I realize he was incredibly young at the time the film was being made, however, he was terribly monotone and lacked almost all emotion. The film, as a whole, was tremendously irritating. However, I felt that this is how the audience is meant to felt, as it certainly would have been how Angelina Jolie’s Christine Collins would have felt; this shows that J. Michael Straczynski, Clint Eastwood and the entire cast did a stellar job in making this film. The film was slow in the sense that there wasn’t much action, but there was so much going on while trying to find Gattlin Griffith’s Walter Collins, that it was easy to become attached and crave more from the film while it went forward. My only complaint, other than that of Devon Conti’s acting, was that in the opening scene that Jolie’s and Griffith’s voices echo when talking to one another (something that frustrates me when watching a film because it appears almost lazy to me). I didn’t have any expectations, to speak of, going into the film. However, I was genuinely impressed with this. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0824747
