This is certainly a fun film for children. On the surface we are exploring the supernatural, which is typically fun in films for children, however, on a deeper level, we are exploring much more; the ideas of family, friends, etc. We visit the struggles of being a single parent, of losing a loved one and trying to find friends in a new setting; all things that a great number of people deal with on a regular basis. For an often silly kid’s film, the acting is decent, and with a suspension of disbelief, the acting is actually believable. The biggest issue I have with this film is the fact that Bill Pullman’s Dr. Harvey, a man who has recently devoted his life to finding ghosts and very much looks forward to finding one, is scared beyond reason when he sees Casper for the first time. I grew up watching and enjoying this film and that certainly hasn’t changed. This is fun for the entire family. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0112642/
