Carnival of Souls (1962)

Updated: Dec 28, 2021

In a 1960’s horror film where the acting wasn’t horrible, the production crew apparently took it upon themselves to sabotage the film. The acting, again, was decent but the way in which this film was made caused the characters to be less believable. The studio, based on the audio, was 100% indoors; this was apparent based on the fact that everyone’s voice echoed from start to finish in this film. It wasn’t until the last twenty minutes or so that this film became even slightly interesting and at that point I was just ready for the film to end. The one thing I did appreciate in this film was the title and the opening credits. For a film made in the 1960’s, we see an array of effects used in the opening credits sequence. Even with the impressive effects, I suggest most of you venture away from this film and save yourself from an hour and twelve minutes of misery. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0055830/
