Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

The Russo brothers are hands-down the most brilliant writers/directors the MCU has seen to date. They managed to create a sequel to an incredible film and make even better than the original. They introduced new, incredible characters and reintroduced old characters in spectacular fashion. Sam Wilson/Falcon is an awesome addition to the MCU. Samuel L. Jackson’s role of Nick Fury became larger and much more interesting in this film compared to the MCU films he has appeared in prior to this one. Maria Hill is an underrated character. She’s funny and the bit of action she is a part of is always exciting. I believe that Marvel always finds a way to balance humor, action and drama in new and interesting ways. One thing I love about the MCU is that the company isn’t typically afraid to take a giant leap or a giant risk when it comes to their films. They are alright with destroying what has taken multiple films to built up to its current height. This film does just this. It tells the viewer that there are high stakes; lives are on the line and they are willing to do what is necessary to make the film great. The elevator fight scene is one of the best fight scenes to take place in the MCU (it’s up there with the halfway and prison scenes in Netflix’s Daredevil). Overall, the action sequences were done well and they were very exciting. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt1843866/
