Bring It On: In It To Win It (2007)

Writer: Kyle BainKyle Bain

Even though none of the four films truly crossed over with one another, there were common motifs that ran through each of the films. At the start of each of the four films we see the main character wake up in a panic after having a nightmare regarding cheerleading. We also often see the female lead have uncommon names such as Torrence, Wittier and Carson. I found these similarities interesting and a fun way to connect each of the films. With this film, I seriously hated the acting; I couldn’t stand the ridiculous accents that many of the characters had. It was interesting to see how Steve Rash and the writers incorporated scenes from Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” and Arthur Laurents’ “West Side Story,” as well as having the Jets and Sharks battle it out throughout the course of the film. This film certainly wasn’t the worst of the series, but it left a lot to be desired. Also, having Ashley Tisdale sing and dance during the end credits was incredibly random and served almost no purpose other than to continue the tradition of each film ending with a musical number. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0972785/
