This film was another huge surprise in the MCU. Prior to seeing the film I knew who Ant-Man was, but, I couldn’t have told you much about him. This was, and still is, one of the best Marvel films to date. Paul Rudd is the best possible person they could have found to play Ant-Man. He’s fun to watch and the way he portrays Scott Lang is hilarious. Michael Peña’s Luis is the unsung hero of this film. Having the role he has (which was definitely a supporting cast member without a huge role), it’s hard to imagine that he would be the funniest, and possibly the best, character in the film. The action scenes were awesome and well scripted. In particular, the scene with Anthony Mackie’s Falcon was great. The action was fun and the conversation between Rudd’s and Mackie’s characters was downright hilarious. I thought the idea of “passing the mantle” worked out well in this film, as Rudd and Michael Douglass appeared to work well together. I look forward to future Ant-Man (and Wasp) films.
